Ideal Long Term Archiving solution – “Have a nice day, lots of love, from your friendly local DNA”.

Looking for an ideal LTA solution, we will first observe that due to thermodynamics/natural degradation we must ensure the data will be copied periodically on a new media. Then since our control on the replication process will diminish dramatically after the time we won’t be around, it will be a good idea to build a system to copy automatically the message to a fresh media as needed. Unfortunatelly, this system will wear out itself after a while, so we should build a self replicating system for this work. Then we should consider the fact that the environment itself might change in time, so our self replicating archiving system should be smart enough to adapt to changes in the environment in order to be able to fulfill its mission.
Well, the smartest self reproductive system around is the human one (plus a good part or maybe all the biosphere) and to my understanding 70 to 97% of our DNA code is considered just junk, without any role in our life, and just replicated again and again, over the generations. Isn’t this interesting? Should we take a closer look at that junk code?
